Compare programme availability, housing, transport, climate and daily life before deciding where to live.
A location can influence your weekly budget, travel time, social life and experience of New Zealand. Begin by confirming where a suitable programme is actually taught, then look carefully at everyday life around that campus.
Confirm the campus first
A provider may operate in several cities without offering every programme at every campus. Check the campus on the programme page and confirm it with the provider before making accommodation plans.
Build a normal-week picture
Look at housing near the campus, likely commuting time, supermarket access, public transport and the services or communities that matter to you. A city that looks exciting during a short visit may feel different during an ordinary week of classes and study.
Think about climate and clothing
New Zealand has significant regional differences. Northern areas are generally warmer, Wellington is often windy, and inland or southern locations can have frost and snow. Climate averages are useful, but conditions can change quickly.
Ask what support is local
Find out whether orientation, academic support, health and wellbeing services, clubs and accommodation guidance are available at your specific campus. For international students, check the provider’s responsibilities under the learner wellbeing and safety Code.
